Introduction: The reproductive health of prospective brides and grooms plays a crucial role in fulfilling their desire to have children; therefore, thorough preparation is essential. Moreover, poor reproductive health in both men and women can affect their ability to conceive. Currently, many prospective brides and grooms still lack sufficient knowledge and awareness about the importance of maintaining reproductive health before marriage. The lack of family involvement, as well as limited support and education from healthcare providers, contributes to the low efforts in preventing reproductive health problems among prospective couples. Objective: This study aims to explore the importance of maintaining reproductive health in prospective brides and grooms.Method: The research method used is a scoping review guided by the PRISMA framework. Article searches were conducted through three databases: Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect, covering publications from 2019 to 2023. Articles were selected based on inclusion criteria, namely original articles, fully accessible, written in either Indonesian or English, and discussing the importance of maintaining reproductive health in prospective brides and grooms. The selection process included identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages. From a total of 9,409 articles identified, 10 articles were selected for analysis. Data were analyzed manually through data charting, without the use of specific software, and were then categorized into themes according to the findings. Results and Discussion: From a total of 9,409 articles found, 10 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in this review. The results of the review identified three main themes: the importance of maintaining reproductive health in prospective brides and grooms, the media used for health education, and the efforts/evidence-based practices conducted at both national and international levels for prospective couples. Conclusion: Further attention is needed to develop reproductive health education strategies that can effectively accommodate premarital counseling for prospective brides and grooms, with the goal of achieving optimal outcomes in improving the reproductive health of the community.
