CORRELATION STUDY BETWEEN ANTENATAL CARE COVERAGE AND COMPLETE POSTPARTUM VISITS IN WEST HALMAHERA DISTRICT

Introduction: The puerperium is an important period for the mother and child, especially during the first 24 hours. Unappropriate handling it can lead to death. Early antenatal care and supervision, as well as safe delivery and good postpartum care. ANC visits are an important source of information because they provide communication, information, and education (IEC) facilities provided by health workers. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between K6 coverage and complete postpartum visits in West Halmahera district. Methods: This study used a survey design with a cross-sectional approach, covering the population of 17 sub-districts in West Halmahera district during 2023. The sampling method used was total sampling. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software, and the approach applied was parametric method with Pearson correlation technique. Results: Pearson correlation analysis between K6 coverage and complete postpartum visits showed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.374 with a p value of 0.139. ANC coverage and postpartum visits are still in the low range. Conclusion: There is no moderate positive correlation between K6 coverage and complete postpartum visits. Other studies are needed with a wider sample size and coverage to get better results.
